Jake LOVES his teacher! She is such a good teacher! Jake will really miss her!
The Reading Chart At School
Every book the kids read in Jake's class earns them a sticker. When I went to his class with him, Jake had to show me how well he has done this year.
He is really a hard worker! Considering that the whole Utah thing this year made him miss almost 2 whole months of school when you add all of the days together, we think he has done really well!
Jake admires his 50 in a min. medal
All year Jake has been working on passing off his 50 in 1 min math papers. Each level is assigned a color and to pass a level the kids have to be able to do all 50 of the math problems on the page in less than 1 min. If they can pass all 10 levels they get a medal.
Jake has worked really hard practicing everyday. He is one of the 3 kids in his whole class that passed them all off. He not only passed them off once he was one level short of passing them all off twice.
We are so proud of how hard he has worked this year especially with all that he has been dealing with this year. It has been a hard one for him. Some of the rewards he has gotten this year from the school for all of his hard work: 6 personal pan pizza's from Pizza Hut, 2 free meals at Sizzler, 4 McDonalds cookies, 2 free meals at Gerties Pizza, 1 free smiley face pancake at IHOP, $10 gift certificate to the Imagination Station (Jake's favorite store-equal to Disneyland in Jake's mind), 4 Volcano drinks from Daisy's, and more.
What a smarty!!
Balloon Toss with Mom at the School Carnival
All year long all of the kids in the school earn "punches" for doing good things in their classes. At the end of the year they have a carnival with a lot of different booths where the kids can spend their punches doing anything they want.
Jake wanted me to come with him and bring the babies. We had a lot of fun spending his punches!
That's "Flippin" crazy!! (I know I take the cake or the cheese, which ever!)
One day about 2-3 years ago jake was jumping on the couch and said, "Mom watch this" without knowing what it was he was doing he jumped up and did a flip. Since that day we have not been able to stop him from flipping off anything he can the side of the pool, the couch, our bed, basically anything that he can jump on or off. He is a brave little bugger. Don't worry, we will put him in gymnastics. For now, enjoy the "flippin" pictures.
WHAT LITTLE BOY DOESN'T DREAM ABOUT THIS?!
Being into his Hot Wheels lately this was, needless to say, a dream come true! Sitting in a REAL race car! Definately a highlight!
SKATELAND
Jake has been such a good boy for the last couple of weeks. He has a job chart which consist of green jobs (clean bedroom, say prayers, brush teeth, read 20 min, etc) which are jobs that he does that he doesn't get paid for, but that he must do in order to get paid for the red jobs (get mail, clean baseboards, do his laundry-which he is very good at, clean his bathroom, dump garbages, etc.) He gets paid about $3 a week, but if he does all of his jobs 100% he gets an extra dollar at the end of the week. So $4 he divides up Tithing and Fast Offerings 25%, Mission Savings 25%, and Spending 50%. He is currently saving all of his spending in an account at Zions Bank. He is trying to save $300 so he can get a motorized 4 wheeler from Toys R Us. He is really quite good at saving. He really is focused on making the $300.
Well, after working really hard for a couple of weeks and getting 100% done we decided to take him to Skateland so he could try rollerskating. He loved it!!
