The closest to civil the babies would get for a picture!

Well, Jake is cute!! He is such a good boy! We love him so much! He is a great brother and Mal and Dawson love to play with him. Mallory has now began calling him "date". If I call for him she does too. It is so funny!

Well, needless to say the babies did not appreciate the pictures and we will have to attempt it again at a later time. Posted by Picasa

Parent Teacher night at Bellevue Elementary

Walking with mom, dad and the babies to school! Jake can't wait to show us what he does everyday at school!

Jake on the Moon!

This is Jake's "Tech" teacher. She works for NASA and is in charge of a program that will put us back on the moon. She is a lot of fun. Her philosophy with the kids is "whatever works". She encourages them to explore and invent new ways for doing old things. In second grade they do projects that are on a 12th grade level. The kids respond to her very well and they love to explore in her class room.

Jake took some picture of his favorite things to do in there. Here are a few of them:

The Roller coaster above is something that they have to build vehicles to go on. She lets them do their own thing. If it fails, which she always tells them is the best thing, then they get to figure out why, and then think of ways they can change and improve it. I love the way she teaches them.

Here are some other things they have built in the class.

THE GRASSHOPPER HUNTERS

Since our move Jake has been very excited to have a 5 year old boy living about 10 feet from our house. One of Jake and Bridgers favorite past times is Grasshopper hunting. There is an empty lot across the street from our house. It serves sometimes as a putting green, a full golf course, a baseball field, insect hunting grounds, or just a place for the boys to take off their shoes, lay under a tree in the shade and talk about who knows what, quite seriously, for hours.

We are soooo happy to have Bridger next door. Jake and him are really good buddies!

Nets in hand....THE HUNT IS ON.....I think Jake has got one!

And the transfer was successful. They were able to put a grasshopper in the bug box (thanks for the bug box Nana!!) without any of the others escaping! Posted by Picasa

The Spoils of the Hunt

Jake has a HUGE nasty Grasshopper among about 5 small ones and Bridger was packing about 7! Good job guys!!

Of course we must leave it to Jake to shake his bum at the camera!! Never a serious moment! Posted by Picasa

Our First Day In Lynden, WA

Jake's First Glimps of the Ocean! The islands you can see in the background are the San Juan Islands.

Checkin out the beach.

Kevin took the kids on a big hike around the beach. If you look really close clear out on the point you can see a couple of points sticking up. That is Kevin and the kids. Jake was so excited when he got back. He had found a real starfish in the water!

When we got home from the beach Jake, Syd and Courtney took off on a 4 mile roundtrip bike ride to Syd's swimming lessons. Then when they got back we all packed up and went to the County Fair!
The kids got unlimited ride passes and stayed all the way until midnight! When I went home to put the babies to sleep the kids rode a ton of rides with Kevin and Courtney. Including the Octopus and the Gravitron. Jake LOVED it all!! Posted by Picasa

After a full day of fun these two were TRASHED!!

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINES!!

ALMOST CANADA

See where we are standing? I am standing on American soil. Now, do you see the road just beyond my reach? CANADA! Just a small ditch seperates us from being able to claim that we have been out of this country!

However, I did not bring our Birth Certs. So, we just took a chance at standing too close and being shot by the gunless mountees.

SO CLOSE, SO CLOSE!! Posted by Picasa

Silly Kids!

Walks in Lynden!

We went on a few nice walks in Lynden (where Courtney lives). It was so beautiful! The kids loved it! This is pictures from our Sunday walk. The kids found acorns, and of course they were a little goofy about it!

This is a real little cottage that we found on our walk. The roof is even thatched (looks kind of like grass) how cute!!

Did you know that Blackberries are all over the place here and you can just pick them and eat them anytime? YUM!!
