BOYS DAY OUT

On Saturday Ryan had to run the missionaries to Twin Falls and had about 4 hours to kill. Jake was so happy to get to go and spend the day with dad! With time to kill and money to burn, Jake couldn't wait! Jake has been saving up his money for quite a while. He wanted to buy a 4 wheeler. He was all the way up to just about $200 when he decided that he didn't want to do that anymore (PHEW!). So, he decided that a trip to Twin with dad might be the perfect time to spend a little dough. It was...he came back with a recorder (which I think is about the same as a clarinet). He is getting really good at it and he has to read music to play it. He practices a lot. In fact, who needs alarm clocks on Sunday morning when Jake has a recorder and find it necessary to practice at 7am!
They did have a lot of fun together! Jake really loves his dad! Click on the "Videos" link to watch Jake playing guitar with Ryan and playing his recorder.

The Adventures of Flat Stanley in Sun Valley, ID

Jake's cousin, Mason, sent him a Flat Stanley. So, learning from Courtney's example on the perfect Flat Stanley experience, we set to work getting pics of all the fun things we do so we can make our own Flat Stanley book to send to Mason. Thanks Mason! We had a lot of fun with him!(You can click on this picture to see it bigger. Adventures included snowboarding, tubing, building a snowman, playing in our snow cave, roasting marshmallows on the deck in the snow, sight seeing and lots and lots of snow!)
Snow Shoeing
Jake went out to play in the snow and ended up stuck! He sunk down quite far. The snow was about 4 feet deep. He strapped on his snow shoes and had a blast "floating" on the snow.

Jake's Feelings About Our Prophet
"President Gordon B. Hinckley is my most favorite Prophet of all. I loved having him as a Prophet. I was very sad when he died, but now that I know Thomas S. Monson is our Prophet, I hope I will get to like him like I did with President Gordon B. Hinckley. I hope I will get to know Thomas S. Monson a little better soon."
